Chapter’s Bookstore is closing after almost 40 years in business

The Chapters Bookstore on Parnell Street in Dublin city center will close early next year after nearly 40 years in business, it has been announced.

Ireland’s largest independent bookstore, founded in 1983, has been on Parnell Street since 2006 in a variety of Dublin locations including Wicklow Street, St Stephen’s Green and Abbey Street.

Chapters is housed on two floors and has sold an extensive range of new and used books, as well as thousands of titles and puzzles at bargain prices.

The bookstore announced the news on Twitter: “After 40 years in business, @chaptersbooks will close in early 2022. To express our sincere thanks to old and new customers, we are holding a huge clearance sale. 2 for 1 on ALL articles, except bestsellers. Buy 2 items, get the cheapest one for free. Only in the store. “

William Kinsella, the owner, has thanked customers old and new for supporting the shop over the past 40 years.
