PHILADELPHIA–() – The Association of Independent Mortgage Experts (AIME), a not-for-profit, national industry association founded solely for independent mortgage brokers, announces the promotion of Katie Sweeney to Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, Sweeney will continue to focus on AIME’s core mission of supporting independent mortgage brokers and expanding the mortgage wholesale channel.

Sweeney is rising from her position as Executive Vice President of Strategy for AIME to CEO, where she spearheaded partnerships with leading mortgage lenders and industry providers to provide real-time support and exclusive access to mortgage brokers. As Senior Vice President at ARIVE, she successfully launched a revolutionary portal that offered an all-encompassing technology solution for wholesale brokers. Based on her experience in consumer direct lending as Vice President at Pacific Union Financial, she will leverage her background in consumer experience and data implementation to continue delivering on AIME’s vision of advancing the broker channel and increasing wholesale channel market share.

“I am excited to promote the Independent Originator by leading AIME’s support for brokers to develop future initiatives essential to the growth of the channel,” said Katie Sweeney. “AIME is uniquely positioned to help brokers successfully meet the needs of today’s homebuyers as our team consists of professionals who naturally understand the needs of this important target audience.”

“UWM is a proud sponsor and enthusiastic supporter of AIME and the broker community. Katie does a fantastic job leading the AIME team and community, and I look forward to her continued support to bring brokers together and grow the channel, ”said Mat Ishbia, President and CEO of United Wholesale Mortgage.

With the current refinancing boom and the increasing number of home purchases, wholesale mortgage professionals need dedicated support more than ever, dedicated to conveying sustainability in the current and future markets to better serve home buyers. In this new leadership role, Sweeney and AIME President, Marc Summers, will lead AIME’s business goals by providing accessible educational resources and business support to brokers who serve their local communities.

“We have seen firsthand how Katie has grown within the AIME organization and we are pleased that her unwavering leadership continues to ensure brokers are well represented and have a voice in the industry,” said Phil Shoemaker, President of Originations at home point.

Sweeney’s focus on day-to-day business operations at AIME will continue to serve the association’s mission, vision and goals. Marc Summers, Broker Owner and President of AIME, will continue to be passionate about the real estate community and all members of AIME.

“We at EPM are excited to see the broker community grow and partner with someone as forward-thinking as Katie and her team at AIME. She has a unique ability not only to read data, but also to use specific strategies that brokers need for ultimate success. The mortgage landscape is constantly changing and EPM is dedicated to AIME and Katie as an executive working together to further improve the game of brokers and the wholesale channel, “said Eddy Perez, CMB, EPM CEO.

Recently named a Mortgage Professional America’s Mortgage Global 100, Sweeney will continue to advance AIME’s values and mission to protect, support and grow the wholesale channel to usher in a new era of success for brokers in the mortgage industry. Under Sweeney’s leadership, she has already positioned AIME as an advocate for growth and representation in the mortgage industry by introducing Ignite Mortgage Career Training and Spark Small Business Grant Programs at the third annual Fuse National Conference last September.

Since 2018, AIME has created a space dedicated to helping and advancing brokers by bringing together a community that previously did not have a collective voice dedicated solely to them in the mortgage industry. AIME will continue its efforts to nurture a supportive community that informs and empowers a nationwide network of mortgage professionals. AIME President Marc Summers stated, “Working closely with Katie and our valued credit and seller partners, we will continue to be a driving force in the Brokers Are Better philosophy, ensuring the longevity of the channel and strengthening the independent originator.”
